SCHOOL BONDS
Shall the order adopted on August 8, 2016, authorizing not exceeding $90,870,000 School Bonds of the County of Durham, North Carolina, for the purpose of providing funds, with any other available funds, for erecting additional school buildings and other school plant facilities, remodeling, enlarging and reconstructing existing school buildings and other school plant facilities and acquiring necessary land, furnishings and equipment therefor, in order to provide additional school facilities in said County to maintain the school term as required by Section 2 of Article IX of the Constitution, and authorizing the levy of taxes in an amount sufficient to pay the principal of and the interest on said bonds, be approved?

Purpose:
Funding will be used to remodel and reconstruct existing school buildings and plant facilities, build additional school buildings and improve other plant facilities and acquire land for Durham Public Schools.
Potential Projects:
Improvements to building, parking, roof, and HVAC enhancements and replacements across a broad range of elementary, middle and high schools.
Support infrastructure needs for various operations and administrative buildings. System wire security and safety measures in secure doorways and access systems.
