National Recovery Month Celebration

For the last 25 years, SAMHSA has designated September as National Recovery Month for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders. The Durham County Criminal Justice Resource Center is hosting a recovery celebration on Thursday, September 25, from noon to 7 p.m. The free event, to be held at the Human Services Building at 414 E. Main St., will focus on the multitude of pathways to recovery. This celebration will feature inspiring speakers, healthy food demonstrations, zumba and line dancing, health screenings, a recovery poster competition, poetry, music, food, door prizes, children’s activities, teen networking and an information/resource center. Come join us to reach out and speak up to reduce the stigma of behavioral health disorders in our community. For more information, contact CJRC's Bob Thomas at 919-560-8929 or rthomas@dconc.gov.
